Where has all the creative thinking gone?

(download)

This has been something that has really shocked me since returning to Perth. People (very generic I know but I am referring to the majority) are happy with the way things are going and are ready to leave it at that (if you disagree let me know). Very few are challenging ideas being made let alone actually thought groups working towards change.

More and more I think it is because people have become lazy. Lazy with their work and willing to just "do their job" rather than create something lasting and challenge themselves.

I came across this Jason Clarke through the Thought Leaders WA group and was interested in an interview he had on ABC 720.

I agree that people are choosing to just keep doing what they have been doing rather than pushing the limits on their own abilities. This is also evident from that fact that when you google "entrepreneurship perth" there are some University courses listed but other than that nothing to be found (groups, organisations etc).

Well that is enough of a rant, now it is time to do something about it and move forward.

I have been reading Seth Godin's books and blog for the past six or seven years and was interested to see he has started a global movement to connect people who want to make change rather than fall a victim to it. You can read all about it on his blog as well as join the Perth meeting (location still to be decided as of writing this but there are 10 people which is a good start) on June 14th.

I am currently working on some other projects that I will post as they come together with the goal of making change rather than watching it happen.
